Meet the Team

Joshua Wong

Brisbane

Exercise Physiologist | Principal Consultant

Graduating with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology from Queensland University of Technology, Joshua has a special interest area in occupational rehabilitation. Joshua has worked within the mining industry implementing operational health, risk and injury claims management for the Coal Mine Workers, fatigue management; and drug and alcohol management.

Since graduating, Joshua has combined working within workplace rehabilitation with his own clinical practice specialising in chronic disease management. Joshua is a Member of Exercise Sport Science Australia and Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Joshua is fluent in Chinese Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and Taiwanese.

Carmel McKenna

Carmel graduated with Honours in Psychology from Griffith University in 1994. Subsequently, Carmel worked extensively with a Commonwealth Agency providing return to work services internally. In 2008, Carmel shifted into the private sector occupational rehabilitation field where she has developed a reputation for working with complex psychological and physical cases.

Additionally, Carmel is a trainer extraordinaire for 3DMind’s Resilience Booster Sessions receiving feedback such as:

“Great workshop with Carmel, enjoyed very much and changed my focus to be more positive” and “Carmel is very informative and highlighted a lot of things I am going through right now”.

Carmel is a fully registered Psychologist with AHPRA, full member of the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC), and Associate Membership of the Australian Psychological Society.

Troy O’Donohue

Troy has “hands-on” experience as an Exercise Physiologist working with a range of clients to assist with treatment gains. Troy has also worked as a Tutor/Academic at Queensland University of Technology.

Troy graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology from QUT and is a Member of Exercise and Sports Science Australia and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

Christy Chan

A Graduate of University of Sydney with Masters of Occupational Therapy, Christy initially worked in the aged care industry conducting assessments and providing rehabilitation and home modifications. Experienced in physical and mental health services and as a Disability Support Worker. Christy is also multilingual: English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Christy is a fully registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.

Emma Evans

Graduating in 2012 from University of Sunshine Coast, Emma initially worked in the aged and health care fields both locally and in London.

Joining 3DMind Solutions in 2016, Emma quickly developed expertise in working with complex psychological and physical cases and achieving successful return to work outcomes with cases of long-term disability and absence from workforce.

Emma also has a passion for training and delivers 3DMind’s Vitality Workshops and Resilience Booster Sessions. Some comments from participants include:

Ryan Macdonald

Ryan has worked with a range of clients with differing chronic conditions and injuries as well as running group classes.

Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology from University of New England and is a Member of Exercise and Sports Science Australia and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.

Shweta Bhatia

Shweta comes on board as an experienced Accredited Exercise Physiologist well versed in the Occupational Rehabilitation space. In fact, Shweta mentioned that she promised to return our clients back to work which she has been doing since 2013.

Outside of this particular work, Shweta also has a wealth of clinical experience working within the Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management plans in a medical clinic.

She also has a Bachelor in Physiotherapy and had practiced as one whilst living in the USA and India – well travelled.

Alana Battel

Alana graduated with a Master of Organisational Psychology from the University of Queensland. With a background in psychology, Alana is very passionate about mental health and wellbeing, particularly in the work environment space. She enjoys supporting people to build resilience in the workplace especially in today’s landscape.

Alana spent some time living in New York where she worked in a clinical role assisting people with varying levels of physical, mental, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. She also has extensive experience across a range of organisational settings where she focused on team and leadership training and interventions to promote workplace wellbeing.

Alana has a special interest in emotional intelligence aimed to enhance leadership and teamwork in organisational settings. Her clinical and organisational experience have equipped her with the skills to adopt a person-centred and holistic approach in achieving optimal rehabilitation outcomes.

Liana Vlajankov

Liana graduated with a master’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Deakin University. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience, having worked within clinical, gym and sporting environments where she developed rehabilitative exercise programs for clients with chronic diseases, illnesses, and injuries. Liana also has extensive experience working within occupational workplace rehabilitation and has been able to demonstrate a high level of critical thinking and problem solving when dealing with complex cases.

Liana enjoys the challenge of managing expectations to address the barriers associated with the clients’ return to work and occupational rehabilitation journey. Her philosophy is that a solution is only as effective as the people supporting it, aimed to achieve a sustainable and safe rehabilitation outcome.

Liana is also passionate about providing support and education to empower her clients to ensure they are better equipped to manage their injuries or conditions independently to sustain employment and enjoy lifelong term.

Away from 3DMS, Liana is a qualified Yoga teacher, Reformer Pilates Instructor, has taught the Diploma of Fitness Coaching course to future fitness professionals, and has worked as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer.
